Your MAT admit card is your entry pass. Without it, the invigilator will not let you sit the exam, however well you have prepared. This calm checklist covers downloading the card, checking it, and packing the right things for exam day.
Why the admit card matters
The admit card carries your photo, signature and roll number, which link your answers to your name. AIMA releases a separate card for each mode and session, usually about three days before the test date. No card means no entry, so treat it as your most important document.
For the September 2026 session, the paper-based test is expected around 13 September and the computer-based test around 20 September, with the admit card out roughly three days before each. Confirm the exact release and test dates on mat.aima.in.
How to download it
- Log in to the AIMA MAT applicant dashboard with your email and password.
- Open the admit-card link for your registered mode.
- Check every detail before you save the PDF.
- Print two clean copies on A4, and keep a soft copy on your phone and in the cloud.
If the download stalls, clear your browser cache, switch to a desktop, or try another browser. If it still fails, contact AIMA support well before exam day rather than the night before.

If anything is wrong, contact AIMA quickly. Small typos are usually fixed fast, but a wrong venue or date needs a fresh card, so do not leave it late.

ID proof: bring the right one
Carry one original, valid photo ID — Aadhaar, passport, PAN, voter ID or driving licence. Carry the same ID whose number you entered in the MAT form. A screenshot, a photocopy without the original, or a blurred laminated card will not be accepted.
Your exam-day bag
- Must carry: two printed admit cards, your original photo ID, and a passport photo matching your application.
- Useful: two or three ball-point pens, a transparent water bottle, and a simple analogue watch.
- Leave at home: smartwatch, calculator, earphones, and any fitness band. Switch your phone off if you must carry it.
Lay out both admit-card prints, your ID and pens in one pouch. Plan your route and set an alarm for at least six hours of sleep. A rested mind scores better than a last, tired revision.
Common problems, quick fixes
