The SBI PO (State Bank of India Probationary Officer) exam is a national-level examination conducted by the State Bank of India to recruit officers for its branches across the country. It is one of the most prestigious banking exams in India.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The age limit is generally between 21 and 30 years, with age relaxation available for reserved categories.
The SBI PO exam consists of three phases: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The Prelims include English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability sections. The Mains exam includes Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language. The final stage is the Group Exercise and Interview.
Yes, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer in both the Preliminary and Main exams.
The selection process includes three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Group Exercise & Interview. Candidates must clear each stage to progress to the next.
The application fee is ₹750 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. SC/ST/PwD candidates are exempt from the application fee.

The admit card for the Preliminary exam is usually released around two weeks before the exam date. Similarly, the Mains admit card is released after the Preliminary results are announced.
